Woman's finger found on Jersey shore deck

BRIELLE, N.J. (AP) - July 31, 2009

Brielle Police Chief Michael Palmer says there appeared to be an acrylic, french-manicured nail on the finger.

The finger was taken to the Monmouth County Medical Examiner's Office.

Palmer says his department searched its database of missing persons. The first entry listed was a 72-year-old woman who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Julia Madsen vanished while walking a beach in Berkeley Township in June.
