Man suffers cardiac arrest at water rescue

WHITEMARSH TWP., Pa. - August 2, 2009 The incident happened at 1:00 p.m. on the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Whitemarsh Township near a creek by the Hilton Garden Inn.

A car became stuck in the flooding waters and a 2-year-old fell into the creek.

Police and fire crews, along with medic units, arrived at the scene.

The child was rescued from the water; however, the driver of the car, a 40-year-old man, went into cardiac arrest.

Both were transported to Abington Hospital.

Officials say both the child and the man will be okay.
