Donald Trump regains casino control

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - August 4, 2009

Now that Donald Trump has regained control of his Atlantic City casino empire, he vows "to make this company great again" and "make Atlantic City hot once more."

Trump, his daughter Ivanka, and Dallas-based Beal Bank bought Trump Entertainment Resorts out of bankruptcy late Monday night for $100 million.

They plan to invest that cash into upgrades at their three casinos.

Ivanka Trump says the first order of business is getting the Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza, and Trump Marina back to a level where they can compete in the cutthroat environment of Atlantic City.

The company also got an 8-year extension on paying down the $486 million in debt it will carry.
