Clinton bristles during question session

CONGO- August 11, 2009 It happened during this town hall meeting in Africa.

Secretary /*Hillary Clinton*/ was asked a question that instantly angered her. It wasn't the topic of the question -- Chinese contracts -- it was that the student misspoke and asked what "Mr. Clinton" thought about the contracts.

"You want me to tell you what my husband thinks? My husband is not the Secretary of State, I am. You ask my opinion, I will tell you my opinion. I'm not going to channel my husband," was Clinton's reply.

Secretary Clinton did try to make up with the questioner after the event, even before she realized that the translator had made a mistake. It wasn't former President /*Bill Clinton*/'s opinion, it was President /*Obama*/'s opinion that the questioner wanted to learn about.

Her intense irritation follows the highly successful trip the former president took to North Korea to free two American journalists. Many say Clinton finds herself in a historically uncomfortable spot. She's battling rumors that she had been marginalized by the White House. She is Secretary of State , but her husband was once a very popular President.
