7 vehicle accident on route 309

AMBLER, Pa. - August 12, 2009 6abc.com TRAVEL LINKS: RELATED: See photos of the accident scene.

7 vehicles were involved in a crash in the southbound lanes of route 309 near Bethlehem Pike.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The crash caused route 309 soutbound to close between Bethlehem Pike and Norristown Road.

Prior to the accident, construction already reduced the traffic in that area to just one lane. Needless to say, the accident caused further delays and congestion.

The accident was cleared just before 5:00 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.
