Surfing Weekend
Avalon
It's all about surfing in Avalon this weekend. The annual Brendon Borek Surf Memorial begins at Community Hall Friday night at 7 for a surfing movie. Rise early Saturday and hit 30th Street beach for an all day surf contest 6:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. Then dance the evening away at a homecoming party at Community Hall, 6-9pm. Proceeds benefit charity.
Hobie Cat Races
Wildwood
Hit Wildwood to see a sea of color in the sea! The Classic Cup Hobie Cat race will entertain. Hobie cats are very bright, colorful vessels. Grab the camera, I tell ya they make for great pics! If you own one, register to race Saturday morning on site. Location: Schellenger Ave. Check it out Saturday 11-4, Sunday 9-1.
Cat Competition
Wildwood
Cats of the feline kind will fill the Convention Center all weekend. The Championship Cat Show will feature 450 cats with 40 different breeds. Watch the judging, browse unique cat items, toys, clothing, & more. Saturday 11-4, Sunday 9-4.
Shell Show
Stone Harbor
Sea shells will be sold at the sea shore in Stone Harbor. The Jersey Cape Shell Show showcases shells of all kinds, even those that glow in the dark! Bring your best shell, or just glance at collections from around the world. Prizes will be awarded at the Wetlands Institute Saturday and Sunday 9:30-4.
