In-home nurse faces theft, drug charges

NEWARK, Del. - August 25, 2009 Officers were called to a home in the first block of Blue Jay Drive in Newark, Delaware just before 1:00 p.m. on Monday.

There, residents told police they had been watching in-home nurse Sheena Denice Thompson, 23, of Wilmington via a web-based camera.

Police say she was supposed to be caring for a cancer patient in the home, but family members watched Thompson going into rooms other than those needed for the patient's care.

A family member went to the home, police say, and confronted Thompson. In her possession she allegedly had two diamond rings from the home, along with a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphrenalia.

Thompson has been charged with felony theft, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphrenalia.
