Police seek East Oak Lane bank robber

EAST OAK LANE - August 31, 2009 It happened around 9:21 a.m. Monday at the Citizens Bank branch at 6201 North 5th Street.

Police say the man entered the bank and gave a threatening demand note to a teller. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled in an unknown direction. No one was hurt.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20's. He stands about 5'3" to 5'4" tall with a thin build. He had a mustache and a goatee. He was wearing a Chicago White Sox baseball cap and a red and tan long-sleeved flannel shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of this subject. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
