Victim identified in Wilmington homicide

WILMINGTON - September 6, 2009 On Saturday, September 05, 2009, at approximately 7:40 p.m. Wilmington Police responded to the area of 4th and Franklin Streets for shots fired.

Once there, officers found a 37-year-old victim in the 1300 block of W. 4th Street, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Johnnie Brown, was transported to Christiana Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to officials, the victim was shot in the 400 block of N. Franklin Street and ran to the location where he was found by officers.

Detective describe the suspect as a black male in his late teens to mid-20s, 5'9, tall, thin build, last seen wearing a white t-shirt with black shorts.
