Woman shot through window, child injured

WEST OAK LANE – September 15, 2009

The rowhome on the 7900 block of Fayettte Street tells the story of just how dangerous this street has become.

Bullets shattering windows in the kitchen, another bullet went right throw the Halloween decorations in the window. And police say neither the home, nor its several occupants, including several children were the intended targets of the shootout.

Police say it was about 6:45 p.m., when a gunman fired all 11 shots from his 9mm at a guy running down an alley behind the 7900 block of Fayette.

He missed his intended target but police say instead, he struck 30-year-old Terry Evans who was visiting her mom's home and her 3-year-old nephew, Terrance Evans, who was struck by flying glass, causing his eyes to bleed.

As it turns out, Terry Evans was recovering from an accident where she was struck by a car while walking home from work when this happened.
