Fleeing suspect nabbed by K-9

CLAYMONT, Del. - September 16, 2009 Troopers stopped a Ford F-150 on I-495 northbound at Philadelphia Pike in Claymont, Delaware for speeding.

Police say the driver, Micah Cuffee, 50, was wanted for an arrest warrant. He was taken into custody without incident.

Troopers said they also spoke with the passenger, George Acree, 23. As police were conducting a computer check, Acree fled the truck and ran into the woods.

After about half an hour, a trooper and his K-9 found Acree in the woods, and they say he refused commands to surrender. Police say the K-9 was sent after him, biting him once on the arm. Acree refused medical treatment.

Police found Acree was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants.

After this incident, Acree was charged with one count of felony Resisting Arrest.  Acree was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to post $12,663 secured bail.

Cuffee was cited for Speeding, Driving While Suspended, No Proof Insurance.  He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $79,925 cash bail.
