WASHINGTON - September 21, 2009 The government on Monday ordered an extra 27.3 million doses
from Sanofi Pasteur of France, which produces flu shots at its
Swiftwater, Pa., factory. It also ordered 29 million more doses of
the nasal-spray version of swine flu vaccine, MedImmune LLC's
FluMist.
The news came as health officials announced Monday that while
people 10 and older are protected by one dose of swine flu vaccine,
children 9 and younger almost certainly will need two.
