David Hart of Wilmington pleaded guilty Monday to the illegal transport of a minor across state lines to engage in criminal sexual activity.
Hart faces a minimum mandatory 10 years behind bars and up to life in prison at sentencing. He faces rape and kidnapping charges in New Castle County Superior Court. Attorneys say the case is expected to be resolved through a plea deal next week.
Prosecutors say Hart convinced the girl from the Allentown, Pa., to skip school and she and her brother went with Hart to his home instead of getting on the school bus. The girl's guardian learned of the meeting after the girl was reported absent from school.
