According to South Detectives, the shooting happened after a foot pursuit occurred in the area of 21st and Dickinson Streets at around 9:30.
Initial reports say that the suspect fired a weapon at police first. Then police discharged their weapon.
There were no injuries to police, however it is unclear at this time if the suspect was shot or his condition.
According to detectives, the suspect was wanted for an attempted robbery involving a Verizon truck. It is not clear what he was trying to steal out of the truck.
