Millsboro officials consider yard sale limits

MILLSBORO, Del. (AP) - October 1, 2009

Mayor Larry Gum said people can't be allowed to run businesses anywhere. And Vice Mayor Bob Bryan says recent yard sales on Main Street "looked like heck" with clothes hanging from trees and pots and pans scattered on a church lawn.

Town officials are looking at regulating where homeowners are allowed to hold yard sales. They say the sales can be viewed unlicensed businesses if the sales are held consistently and there's evidence the person is selling goods to make a living.

Officials also said they want to keep town streets free of clutter.
