Man arrested for indencent exposure

WILMINGTON, Del. - October 1, 2009 At around 4:11 p.m. Wednesday, Wilmington Police responded to the home of a 12-year-old boy who lives in the area of 4th & Ford Ave. There, officers and later, city detectives interviewed the victim who says that he was walking in the area of the 400 block of Ford Avenue when he was approached by a man who physically restrained him.

The man reportedly forced the boy to touch his groin area several times. The suspect then pulled down his shorts and exposed his genitals to the boy. The victim then broke free and ran home. He was not injured.

The suspect, who was known to live in the neighborhood, was identified as 41-year-old Leonardo Perez of the 400 block of Ford Avenue. Perez was apprehended at his residence without incident and transported to headquarters where he was charged with indecent exposure, unlawful imprisonment, and unlawful Sexual contact.

Perez was transported to Howard Young Prison for lack of $8,000 bail.
