Search for assault suspect in Wilmington

Wilmington Police detectives are investigating the attempted sexual assault of a woman which occurred early Friday morning at approximately 2:15 am. The 37-year-old Wilmington woman says that she was walking through Harriet Tubman Park in the area of Rosa Parks Drive and S. Market Street, when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. The suspect pushed her to the ground and attempted to remove her clothes.

The victim fought the man off after being punched several times in the face. She finally escaped the attacker who fled in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to the Christiana Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The suspect has been identified as Lyndon Ramsey, 20, of Wilmington.
