Homeless dogs get some high-flying help

October 5, 2009

Action News was at the airport in Northeast Philadelphia Sunday afternoon when a flight from 'Cloud Nine Rescue' landed with 15 dogs on board.

The dogs are from South Carolina. They are coming to Philadelphia and New Hampshire in order to find new homes.

Ted Dupuis is the founder of the rescue group. He tells us, "They all came out of South Carolina out of high kill shelters where they were going to get put down due to the overpopulation epidemic that exists in the south."

Most of the overpopulation is caused by people who don't get their pets spayed or neutered.

Cloud Nine Rescue tries to make at least one flight a weekend, saving nearly 2 dozen dogs at a time.
