A passenger train struck and killed the man just after midnight.
The accident happened along Amtrak rails near Edgemoor Road in Edgemoor, New Castle County.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger on the train was treated for a medical problem.
Amtrak stopped service along the line while Delaware State Police investigated.
Service has resumed.
