Police van collides with school bus on I-676

A Philadelphia Police van was involved in a crash with a school bus and 2 other vehicles Wednesday morning in Center City.

The accident occurred just before 7:00 on the westbound Vine Street Expressway, near 24th Street approaching I-76.

The police van was carrying 10 prisoners. They are complaining of neck and back pain.

Two officer also suffered minor injuries - one complaining of head pain and another of knee pain. No other injuries have been reported.

No students were aboard the school bus at the time of the crash.

The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for some time, causing major congestion during the morning commute.
