Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from a two story home.
Most of the fire was put out within ten minutes.
A 38-year-old woman was taken to Christiana Hospital suffering from burns.
She sustained burns to her upper body. New Castle County paramedics treated the victim during transport to Christiana Hospital. She was admitted to the hosptial in serious condition.
The Red Cross has been called to assist residents.
