Mrs. Fixit: Planters

October 25, 2009

A two-tier plant stand, like this one, can be turned into a great umbrella stand for your front door. Take the top pot out of the stand and place a heavy plate in the bottom of the lower pot. Then all you need to do is slip your umbrella in place.

This same type of plant stand makes a cute towel rack in a small bathroom. Roll your towels and slip them inside for easy access.

You can also use one of the pots to hold make-up, hair brushes or other bathroom essentials.

A stone planter in the kitchen is a great place to keep your cooking utensils. It will free up your drawer space and put your tools in arms reach.

A longer planter is an attractive spot for lining up oils and vinegars.

Or near the back door for catching keys and mail.

Or, if put it on your front porch and use it as a mailbox.

I hope these plant some ideas in your head. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
