Mrs. Fixit: Garage Storage

November 14, 2009

To keep your garbage cans from tipping over and hitting the cars, screw a couple of eye hooks into the wall and use a bungee cord to secure the cans in place.

Screw a couple of hooks into the ceiling or wall and hang an old hammock up there, it's the perfect spot to stash all of those sports balls overhead and out of the way.

Hang a long shaker peg board on the wall and you have a verstile spot for hanging lawn tools, brooms and extension cords.

Speaking of those extension cords, if you want them to stay coiled and not turn into a giant, knotted mess take an extra minute and coil them carefully.

Put the outlet end facing way from you and then make a large loop with the cord so that you form a complete circle. Repeat, alternating the direction of your loops until you're done.

Maximum garage storage with a minimum of effort. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
