Chris Brown heading out for tour

NEW YORK (AP) - October 21, 2009 He'll get the answer next month, when he kicks off a series in what he's calling his "Fan Appreciation" tour. It will be his first extended performing since the incident when he beat up his then-girlfriend Rihanna. He will be performing his first concert since the incident in New Jersey next week.

The first show in the Fan Appreciation tour is set for November 14 in Houston. The shows will be at small venues - but his publicist says that's so Brown can be in an "intimate" setting. Part of the proceeds from the shows are going to charities - though there's no immediate word on which ones.

Brown is 20. He is currently serving a six month sentence of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling for the attack on Rihanna the night before this year's Grammys. He was also sentenced to five years' probation in the attack.
