Report: Ingmar Bergman's Swedish island home sold

STOCKHOLM (AP) - October 23, 2009 Swedish daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter cites the director's daughter, Linn Ullman, as saying that Norwegian archaeologist, inventor and entrepreneur Hans Gude Gudesen bought the property on the small Baltic Sea island of Faro.

According to Friday's report, those working in the sectors of film, music, theater, literature and photography will be able to seek scholarships to live and work at the estate for certain periods of time.

Bergman died on July 30 in 2007. He is famous for cinema classics such as "The Seventh Seal" and the Oscar-winning "Fanny and Alexander."
