Town a battleground for Phils, Yanks fans

HAMILTON TWP., N.J. - October 22, 2009 However, the possibility that the Yankees could face the Phillies in the fall classic is causing a split in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

It's even pitting brother against brother!

"I have a brother who''s a Yankee fan and we''ve been going at it back and forth," said Mike Manfredi. "I'm a Phillies man!"

When you walk in the door at the Modell's store in Hamilton the division is obvious. To the left it's all the Phillies paraphernalia. To the right, it's Yankees.

"It's not one or the other, it''s both. Its a mixture. It's like almost an even mixture of fans coming in," said store manager Scott Loessy.

It's definitely a mixed bag in the middle between New York and Philadelphia.

"My team is the Philies. I was brought up with the Phillies, my mom loved the Phillies. Go Phillies!" said Jean King.

"Oh they're definitely going to the series. Definitely," said Yankees fan Michele Tuccilo. "They're number 1. They're always going to be number 1!"

We even found one man in a Yankees sweatshirt buying Phillies gear!

"I like the Yankees. I like the Phillies, and I think it's going to be a great series between the two of them. Whichever won, I'd be happy," said Tony Carlani of Florence.

In the end, there's one thing that can unite baseball fans here, no matter who they root for....

Everyone hates the Mets!
