The accident occurred in the 800 block of River Road near the Philadelphia Inquirer building around 2:45 a.m.
Police say the accident involved one vehicle spinning and striking another causing the striking vehicle to split in half.
A male driver and female driver were killed instantly.
There were no other passengers in the two cars.
