A Department of Correction spokesman says Dereke and Jeanne Moore are being held after failing to post bond on abusing a corpse and conspiracy charges. The misdemeanor charges have a maximum sentence of one year in prison and a fine.
Authorities believe the baby was stillborn Saturday at Dereke Moore's parents' home. The next day Jeanne Moore went to Bayhealth Medical Center for bleeding. That's where authorities allege she confessed to disposing of the boy's body in a Hampton Inn trash bin in Dover.
