The fire broke out around 3:33 p.m. in the 7100 block of Forest Avenue.
Firefighters arriving on the scene found light smoke coming from the home, and the fire was put out in a matter of minutes.
However, once inside, police found the woman's body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
The woman's name has not been released.
