Reward issued for hit and run bicyclist

CENTER CITY - December 5, 2009

39-year-old Andre Steed worked at the law firm of Caesar, Rivise, Berstein, Cohen and Pokotilow for 16 years.

He had worked his way up the ranks from the mail room to a paralegal.

"He would do anything you asked him to, never complained, he was always meticulous in everything that he did," attorney Robert Silver said.

On Thursday October 15 at about 6:30 p.m., Andre was hit by a bicyclist at the corner of 16th and Locust Streets in Center City.

The biker fled the scene.

Andre suffered massive head injuries and died 9 days later.

A witness describes the biker as a white male in his early 20's, weighing 140 pounds and wearing a white hoodie with red spots. He was riding a white mountain bike.

Witnesses told police that the biker didn't seem concerned about Andre and got up from the ground and asked people if he was injured..

The law firm has put together a $10,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
