On Saturday at 10:35 p.m., County Police responded to a home on Wildfire Lane in New Castle for a report of a domestic disturbance. When the officers arrived, a woman told them 39-year-old Julius Brannan had pushed and threatened her.
Police investigation revealed Brannan had a no contact order against him related to a previous incident involving the victim.
When the officers attempted to take him into custody, Brannan pushed one of them and then ran toward the front door. As he ran out of the door, he slammed it shut another officer's hands. A foot pursuit ensued, but Brannan was able to elude capture.
Brannan is charged with assaulting a police officer and related charges.
