Burials to begin in Jan. at New Hope veterans cemetery

NEW HOPE, Pa. (AP) - December 8, 2009

Officials with Washington Crossing National Cemetery say the first burials there will take place in mid-January.

U.S. congressman Patrick Murphy says the cemetery will be like Arlington National Cemetery, a shrine to soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The Department of Veterans Affairs will take possession of the land later this month. The 200-acre cemetery will remain under construction for several more years.
