Christie opts for toned-down inauguration

TRENTON, N.J. - December 8, 2009

The Republican is opting for business attire over black tie and his inaugural celebration will be more of a cocktail party than a formal ball.

The day, Jan. 19, will begin with a morning Mass at Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark. At noon, Christie and running mate Kim Guadagno will be sworn in at the Trenton War Memorial near the Statehouse.

The day will end back in Newark with a $500-a-person party at the Prudential Center. It will be headlined by the Bruce Springsteen cover band that played at Christie's election night victory party.
