It happened on Martin Luther King Drive, near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge around 10:00 Wednesday morning.
Police say the off-duty officer was on her way to a meeting in the 19 District when she hit a pothole, lost control and slammed into a tree.
The unidentified victim was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where, we are told, she is alert and was talking.
