Pizza parlor employee shot during robbery

FRANKFORD - December 12, 2009

The employee, a deliveryman for Sam's Pizza, was sitting in a booth when the gunman walked into the store wearing a ski mask and demanded money from the employee behind the counter.

During the robbery, the deliveryman got up and swung a trash can at the gunman causing a scuffle. During the scuffle, the armed male opened fire at the employee striking him multiple times including the chest, stomach, arms and legs.

The employee was taken by ambulance to Aria Hospital-Torresdale where he is listed in critical condition.

Philadelphia police are searching for a black male, dressed in black, wearing a black and orange ski mask who fled on foot south on Rutland Street. Police are also reviewing surveillance video in nearby businesses to help catching the gunman.
