It happened around 8:30am along the 6600 block of Paschall Ave.
Officers were called for the report of an assault and possible abduction. When they arrived, police say they found a woman who was assaulted by the father of her 3-month-old daughter.
The man had the child in his arms and was hurting her at that time, according to police.
Investigators got the child away from the man and she was transported to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in good condition.
The mother was transported to HUP in stable condition.
The man was brought into custody.
