Investigators say that at approximately 3:09 p.m. the suspect entered the bank branch, located at 8764 Frankford Avenue, and threatened a teller with a small handgun.
The man obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the scene on foot.
Luckily, no one was injured.
The subject is described as a white male standing 6'2" tall with a stocky build, with a thin beard and mustache, wearing a black knit cap, a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black hooded jacket.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of this subject.
