Reward offered in deadly hit-and-run

ELKINS PARK, Pa. - November 30, 2009

It happened on Church Road near Old York Road in Elkins Park around 5:00 p.m. on November 30th.

85-year-old Frances Gordon had just left the library and was crossing Church Road to go to her car when she was hit. The driver of a light colored van left her for dead in the middle of the road.

Gordon was a long time resident of Elkins Park and a frequent patron of the library. She lived about a mile away.

Police say the driver of the van stopped briefly and then took off.

The vehicle was described as a newer model white Ford cargo van with rear tinted windows. This vehicle may also have minor front end damage.

The driver was described as a white man in his late 40's or 50's, clean shaven with short, salt-and-pepper hair.
