Medics were called to an apartment building at the intersection of 52nd and Jefferson at about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
When they arrived they found a one-year-old girl inside of an apartment unresponsive.
She was taken to the hospital where she died. Police say the mother went with the girl to the hospital.
Homicide detectives investigating this death are calling it 'suspicious' until the medical examiner makes a ruling after the autopsy.
