It happened in the 2000 block of Limestone Road around 6:15 a.m.
After the accident, the 61-year-old woman was taken to Christiana Hospital with a serious leg injury and probable head and internal injuries.
There is no word yet on how the accident happened, or the victim's identity.
While police are on the scene, commuters can follow Saint James Church Road (which is just west of Route 7) to Telegraph Road to make their way to the other side of Stanton.
