The attack happened along the 1400 block of JFK Boulevard Saturday morning while a man was waiting for the northbound Broad Street Line Train.
He was approached by a man just after 9:00 a.m. on the City Hall Platform. The suspect asked the victim for a cigarette, when he refused, the person hit the man in the face with a sharp object.
The victim was transported to Hahnemann Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are searching for a male in his 30's about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, knit hat and blue jeans.
