Burlington Co. road NJ's worst for pedestrians

TRENTON, N.J. - January 7, 2010

An analysis by the Tri-State Transportation Campaign found there were nine fatalities on the road between 2006 and 2008.

The group says the highway is full of retail destinations but designed for fast-moving cars.

Five stretches in New Jersey had seven deaths over the 3-year period. They are White Horse Pike in Atlantic County, Route 1 in Middlesex County, Route 549 in Ocean County, Route 9 in Ocean County and Route 1 in Union County.
