Trial to open for 3 in Pa. home invasion killing

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - January 10, 2010

Twenty-three-year-old Joseph Page, 26-year-old Amatadi Latham and 19-year-old Karre Pitts are charged with second- and third-degree murder, robbery and related offenses in the January 2009 death of 58-year-old Robert Chae in Montgomery County.

Prosecutors allege that the three ambushed Chae and his wife as they prepared to leave their home for their Center City beauty supply shop. Authorities say Chae suffocated after he was left bound with duct tape in the garage while the robbers forced his wife to open a safe, from which they took $15,000 to $20,000 in cash, jewelry and other property.

Three of four other suspects, including Chae's nephew, have pleaded guilty in the case.
