NJ DOT worker killed on I-76 in Camden Co.

BELLMAWR, N.J. - January 11, 2010

It happened at around 1:00 p.m. near the I-295 interchange.

The worker, has been identified as Joseph Kealey, 45, of Lindenwold, N.J. He was employed as an emergency repair mechanic by N.J. DOT for the past 3-and-a-half years.

Kealey was helping repair a broken down car along the highway, was hit by a Dodge Magnum traveling east on the highway.

Medics transported the worker to Cooper Hospital in critical condition.

Officials tell Action News that they are investigating the condition of the driver of the Magnum to check and see if she was driving under the influence. She could be charged with vehicular homicide.
