A 51-year-old woman resident of a home on South Du Pont Highway heard a loud noise at the front door early Monday and hid while trying to call 911. After the woman hung up, police say a robber found her and dragged her by the hair to the living room area and tied her up with a phone cord.
Police spokesman Cpl. Bruce Harris says the robbers then found a 34-year-old man in his bedroom, demanded money and then shot him a number of times in the leg and lower extremities. The robbers fled.
The injured man was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
