Authorities say a car driven by 19-year-old Tyler Hess went out of control on Kreidersville Road in Allen Township shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday. Officials say the car veered into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a car driven by 43-year-old Paul Kunkle.
Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lyseck says Kunkle died at the scene. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says Hess was pronounced dead several hours later at St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill. Officials say a 16-year-old passenger in Kunkle's car was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he was later listed in critical condition.
