Her husband Leonard has Alzheimer's and has been living at Chapel Manor nursing home.
On Sunday morning, the nursing home called Cantz with grave news, saying her 81-year-old husband had passed away.
Cantz and her son contacted other family members with the word of Leonard Cantz' death.
They began funeral arrangements by calling an undertaker.
Then, 5 hours later, they received another call from nursing home saying he was alive.
The family says the nursing home discovered the mistake when the funeral director went to get Leonard's body and realized he was still alive.
The nursing home has issued a statement about the incident saying in part:
"We take this situation very seriously and apologize for the pain this misinformation may have caused. We have launched an investigation to determine how this occurred and to ensure it will not happen in the future."
