Man, 30, struck by car in Logan

LOGAN - January 21, 2010

It happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. along the northbound lanes of Broad Street at Rockland.

Police say a 30-year-old man tried to run across the street when he was struck by a car. The driver of the striking car was traveling in the right lane with a truck slightly ahead and in the left lane. The pedestrian darted out past the truck, but was struck by the car.

The driver of the car attempted to elude the pedestrian and after striking the pedestrian, struck a parked car and a utility pole.

The pedestrian was rushed Albert Einstein Medical Center. He was deemed a trauma alert while in transit.
