Police were called to the 400 block of E. 35th Street for a report of a shooting and a man down.
Officers found the 35-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest. He was in a driveway behind a row of homes on 35th Street.
Investigators believe the man was in a car when someone opened fire. The bullet went through the windshield and struck the man.
Police say the victim apparently exited the car and collapsed about 25 feet away.
He was taken to Christiana Hospital.
