It happened around 10:05 p.m. at Cottman Avenue and Erdrick Street.
Initial reports indicate police intercepted a motorcycle fitting the general description of one stolen from another section of the city. As officers converged, the cyclist lost control and slammed into at least one of the two involved cruisers.
The cyclist was injured.
He suffered a head injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the accident.
